Andrew Birkett

Andrew is a former 1st XI player at Rainhill CC, where he was an opening bat and wicketkeeper. In 1991 he accumulated 587 runs in league competition.

A genuine all-rounder, Andrew is also a very capable bowler and took 6 for 21 against Aigburth in 1987. Since retiring from league cricket Andrew played for Rainhill's Sunday Recreationals until 2019 before returning to the game with Mersey Rose in 2024. He was the hardball team's joint top run scorer in 2024 and won the Fielder of the Year award.
