Safeguarding Officer
Mersey Rose Recreationals Cricket Club currently has an Acting Safeguarding Officer but is looking to appoint a dedicated individual on a more permanent basis.
The Safeguarding Officer is one of the most vital roles at the club. Safeguarding Officers ensure the safeguarding and protecting of children and young people in cricket and help to implement the ECB ‘Safe Hands Policy’ and procedures. They also promote good safeguarding practice within their club, ensure club volunteers and staff are appropriately vetted and act on any reported safeguarding concerns.
The Safeguarding Officer is also required to serve as a committee member.
The role is voluntary but reasonable expenses incurred in the course of carrying out the role can be claimed..

Previous experience in a similar role, a knowledge of Statutory Agencies and awareness of safeguarding policies is advantageous. However, training will be provided for the right person in accordance with ECB guidance.
