Mental Health Lead
Mersey Rose Recreationals Cricket Club is looking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Mental Health Lead to support the club's players and staff.
The club is positive about promoting mental health. It also recognises that stigma around mental health remains and needs to be challenged.
The club Mental Health Lead will provide a source of advice and practical support to players and other club members, while also championing good mental health. The Mental Health Lead will also work with external agencies and groups in regards promoting education around mental health.
The main responsibilities of the role include:

Developing the club's approach to support mental wellbeing
Helping to identify emerging mental health needs of players and members
Helping volunteers to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health needs and what to do should they have concerns
Developing processes through which concerns are followed up in accordance with best practice
Forging links with specialist mental health services
Signposting players and members towards appropriate sources of help and support
Supporting players and members who have known mental health issues
Being an approachable source of confidential support within the club

The role is voluntary but reasonable expenses incurred in the course of carrying out the role can be claimed.
Previous experience in either a similar role or other mental health related work is preferred. Empathy and a knowledge of mental health are vital. Specialist training can be provided for the right person.
