Disability Inclusion Lead
Mersey Rose Recreationals Cricket Club is looking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Disability Inclusion Lead.
The club is disability positive and seeks to break down barriers to disability inclusion. We believe that everyone deserves to have the same opportunities to enjoy the wonderful game of cricket.
The club Disability Inclusion Lead will provide a source of advice and practical support to players and other club members. The post holder will play a crucial role in ensuring that the club is meeting the needs of disabled members, that they are integrated into the club and that our offer to them is grown and developed. The Disability Inclusion Lead will also work with external agencies to help maximise inclusion.
The main responsibilities of the role include:

Overseeing the club's Disability Inclusion programme*
Providing guidance and support to club players and volunteers
Monitoring and evaluating existing provision; offering innovative solutions when appropriate
Establish communication links with disabled players/members and, where appropriate, their families
Building links with community support groups to aid inclusion and maximise participation
Identifying new funding streams for disability cricket and prepare funding applications
Organising and supporting fundraising initiatives as needed
Promoting involvement of disabled people in all aspects of club life
* This does not require the post-holder to be actively involved in coaching, but to work with coaches to ensure the programme adequately meets the needs of disabled players.

The role is voluntary but reasonable expenses incurred in the course of carrying out the role can be claimed.
Previous experience in either a similar role or other mental health related work is preferred. Empathy and a knowledge of mental health are vital. Specialist training can be provided for the right person.
